Any Time 01:18
So here we go now once again Nothing new to show for what you are Time after time you'd be surprised By how you've travelled so far You look inside for answers but You can't see anything at all You never try to hide the fact that You can't help but just fall You play the game you cannot win Obsessed with seven deadly sins I am the needle, you're the pin I'll pull you out so that we can begin So dull your nerves to ease the pain It'll only come right back again To cut it off just make a smile And won't you leave it there a while?

Grow the fuck up! We're all up in the air here, but Have a fucking care You're not the only one who's Got frustrations Don't wanna lecture, but You do protect your heart Enough to keep you From having fun Always just the same, you're Always just the same, you're Always just the same, you're Always just the same! I don't want to be you, but I'll hear you in my darkest dreams, fool I'll hear you! And I wouldn't want to meet you, but I'll see you when my blackest thoughts move I'll see you! Now you're a reasonable man A man with many plans, but Nothing seems to change, don't It feel that way? Sometimes to lose yourself is to Find there's someone else Deep inside you, just Feeling blue Always just the same, you're Always just the same, you're Always just the same, you're Always just the same! I don't want to be you, but I'll hear you in my darkest dreams, fool I'll hear you! And I wouldn't want to meet you, but I'll see you when my blackest thoughts move I'll see you! Make the monster and the man will disappear So resurrect yourself in love without fear Life is cruel, but you don't have to be I double dare you just to try listening to me I don't want to be you, but I'll hear you in my darkest dreams, fool I'll hear you! And I wouldn't want to meet you, but I'll see you when my blackest thoughts move I'll see you!

Got a fucking bag of things You won't want if you Dare look my way Come around and see what You've found if you think that You're the same Hanging onto a moment Taking it blow by blow Giving in to all your great despairs Until you let this go Let it go Can't you see it's beautiful, this Day that's near to end? These are interesting times that We are living in You've gotta recondition yourself To what you left behind If it's the past that you want to last And not your present time Digging a deeper hole Feeling so hungry and bold These frights and furies that I endure are all part of your cure Can't you see it's beautiful, this Day that's near to end? These are interesting times that We are living in Welcome to a place, to A place you will Never want to leave, and If you were disturbed It always hurts, and Leaves you here to bleed Choking on feelings that You can't bring your- Self to swallow whole Watch as the spirit dies In your eyes Let it go Can't you see it's beautiful, this Day that's near to end? These are interesting times that We are living in Let it go Can't you see it's beautiful, this Day that's near to end? These are interesting times that We are living in Let it go

Fist full of nothingness Spinning around inside your head Pieces of broken glass in your words Making it hard to understand This is no one's fault you see This is how it has to be I hope you find yourself again My friend Something deep inside you is Reaching out to say that Something far behind you should Not be in your way, you'd Best go and paddle on be- Fore you should drown, oh no, in an Ocean full of metaphors For down Now if there's a heaven Couldn't honestly say Life's only just begun You think it's gone away Now if you feel empty Just fill yourself up again Please be careful now of Who or what you're letting in Nobody's to blame here, this I see Time to look at this so peacefully I know that you will find a way One day Something deep inside you is Reaching out to say that Something far behind you should Not be in your way, you'd Best go and paddle on be- Fore you should drown, oh no, in an Ocean full of metaphors For down So hold right on, there's only One way to settle this now, so Just be strong, you've got to Let it, let it all out Something deep inside you is Reaching out to say that Something far behind you should Not be in your way, you'd Best go and paddle on be- Fore you should drown, in an Ocean Yeah, an ocean

about

2009 was coming to an end, and it had been a stinker of a year for me. It was an incredibly stressful and difficult year in my life. The music I made during this time was profoundly negative as a result, and even the equipment I had to make it with was in poor condition, so things feel very rough and unpolished in contrast to Crucible of Ideologies, and more than a little dark.

The lyrical content was mainly self-criticism, from looking in the mirror and seeing a whole bunch of things I wanted to change. While some of this can come off as quite intense, it eventually took me down a road of self-forgiveness and renewed enthusiasm for my life, let alone my music.

I only had the emotional energy to squeeze out four whole tracks during this time, so this one's unambiguously an EP. The title refers to the term input/output, commonly abbreviated to I/O in computing.
